When i listened to the BBC Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave on the night of their engagement i couldnt help but think how much fake news about this romance has been peddled in the last year, by so called serious journalists.
Lets look at some of the myth that has permeated the internet and newspapers especially here in Britain
1.The couple met at the Invictus games preparation in May 2016 when Prince Harry travelled to Toronto to lay out the foundation for the 2017 games in the same city. In their interview Prince Harry confirmed that they had met in London on a blind date.
2.They were introduced by Ms Markle's friend Marcus Anderson, who is the "king" of Soho house
3.That Prince Harry had a crush on Meghan Markle for 2 years after having seen her in his favourite show, Suits. What a lie, the Prince had never had of Meghan Markle before the blind date. I consider this the biggest piece of BS fake news and to some extent prompted the start of this website which i had to name real non fake news site.
4.That the couple had got engaged in Botswana in August. The couple confirmed they got engaged early in November and not in Botswana as predicted by the gossip mongers.
5. The British press have called this a whilwind romance but in actual fact the relationship was 18 months before they got engaged. Its almost as if the press was reluctant to name the time the relationship started, or in this case they didnt know and decided to tell us what they wanted us to hear. The couple then confirmed to us the exact time they have been dating. 18 months is long enough for 2 people to get to know each other especially 2 people in their 30's.
I enjoyed the BBC interview carried out by Mishal Hussain who has no interest in a false narrative or in this case ulterior motives in their reporting. Well done Prince Harry for choosing her and not some royal correspondent with an agenda like Ingrid Seward who said ealier in the relationship that they will never marry. How embarassing for these hacks, LOL.
